Jacquie joined Virtual Hospice as an Administrative Assistant in May 2014. She comes to us from Cancer Care Manitoba, where she worked in both Patient and Family Support Services and for the Screening Programs.  Jacquie has had experience in both the private sector and with a federal Crown Corporation.

One of Canada’s leading sociologists, Raymond Currie is a Dean Emeritus of the University of Manitoba (U of M). He served as Department Head (1979-1984) and Dean of Arts (1991-1999) at the U of M, and as Executive Director of the Canadian Research Data Centre Network (2002-2010).

Ask a Professional Team

Dr. Harlos is the Clinical Team Leader for the Canadian Virtual Hospice, and has also developed and maintains the site Palliative.info, a site for palliative care links and resource material. Dr. Harlos is Medical Director of Adult and Pediatric Palliative Care for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, and is Professor and Section Head of Palliative Medicine at the University of Manitoba.

Dr. Romayne Gallagher is a palliative care physician with experience in the field that spans 25 years and includes patient care, teaching and research. Prior to becoming a full time palliative care physician she worked as a family physician for 12 years. She has been involved in collaborative work to improve access to palliative care at both provincial and national levels. Romayne’s other area of interest is pain management in older adults, including adults with cognitive impairment or dementia.

Dr. Shane Sinclair is Assistant Professor, CancerCare Research Professorship, in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary.  He is also a certified spiritual care specialist with the Canadian Association of for Spiritual Care. He currently has a nationally funded program of research investigating the impact of compassion in clinical care.
