Welcome borninfrance,
I am glad you found us and that you posted.

Sometimes we think it`s the big things or `special words`that can make the difference but as the person you sat with said - your touch and presence were priceless. I think they are even more meaningful because of your personal experience of illness and grief and bereavement. Those are costly but they have given you understanding and caring. 

Your mother sounds like she was a wonderful person...how did you learn these qualities from her...in words or actions or memories...
