"Physicians, nurses, counsellors and other health care practitioners are invited to sumbit proposals for workshops, presentations and papers for the May 2009 integrative medicine conference, SpiritHeals: AN Exploration of Spirituality in Health and Healing which will take place at the University of Victoria, BC, May 29-31, 2009. The SpiritHeals conference, an event for health care providers, is a valuable opportunity for professional development and experiential learning. The program, presented by some of the most respected leaders in their field, will explore the growing research and clinical applications of spiritual beliefs and spiritual phenomena in health care settings that point to an evolving paradigm of health and healing.
This international multi-disciplinary event will feature Dr. Joan Borysenko, PhD, who completed a doctorate and post-doctoral fellowships at Harvard Medical School and studies the spiritual dimensions of health; Dr. Edgar Mitchell, PhD. founder of the Institute off Noetic Sciences and the 6th man to walk on the moon; and Raymond Moody, MD, PhD, best-selling author or Life After Life and originator of the term "near-death experience."
