Hello Sweet Face, (that sounds like a special nickname) Welcome to our community. I am glad you found us. My sympathy to you.

You will find there are others here like Dar64 and Myblueeyedman who will understand your grief and loss.

My rock posted to lost from a broken heart after the death of his wife. If you go to that thread you will also meet NatR and Mark99. If you post to that thread, they will be notified and respond to you I am sure.

Are there others around you who help you cope Sweet Face? NL is very close to my heart. Are you close to the ocean? I have found the water has healing power.

I look forward to talking again.

Katherine

Dear Sweetface:

Welcome to Canadian Virtual Hospice and I am so glad you found us.

On CVH there are many who understand and share your loss of a loved one.

I joined the group when my husband of 59 years was receiving palliative care in our home.   John passed away January 10, 2015, 5 days before our 59th wedding anniversary.

I understand the pain and needing to cope with the loss of someone very special to you. Especially painful for you would be that your fiance passed away and your life without him has come to a very abrupt end.

The understanding and care from all on this link is so helpful, their understanding of my not knowing how to cope from day to day.  I shared my pain and they understood without criticism having gone through this pain or going through it at the time.

You will find that there are many to whom you can relate to.  The bewilderment of not knowing why your fiance passed away.  Why he had cancer and so many why's that seem to have no end and no answer to.  You may hear time is a healer and we all heal in a different manner.  No one faces the passing of a loved one in the same way I learned from reading many of the messages on CVH.

I would suggest that you check out some of the other message boards.  I especially go to "Who Advocates for Us"  Jimmie on this message board has  wisdom that is so understanding and has helped me through many a day when I felt I was going mad from missing John.  Old Bat has insight and her last two messages are heartwarming as are the all the others.

The links suggested by Katherine are very helpful indeed, Nat R is a great support and very understanding.  You will find in your search of coping there are so many who understand you and are there on line willing to help you through your sorrow.

Hugs to you.

Dear Sweetface,

I found CVH south of the border, but so lonely and ready to talk with others in my kind of world. It has been a truly giving and supporting group. I lost my partner over a year ago when he was no longer able to help with housework or make decisions. He is still with me, and now I seek to give loving and patient care. I also welcome learning from those at other places on the journey.

I just recommenced CVH to a Canadian friend who is losing her partner to dementia. So love and care to you. I'm glad you are here.

Hello,
I know that in the last 6 months you have passed through a lot of 'firsts' without your fiance Sweet Face.  Thinking of you.
