Life really is rather odd and unforgiving at time, but somehow it just keeps on going.  A loss is gut wrenching at best, but as has been said, so many here are not just brave, but tough aged fighers, and like any fighter, it seems like we can't go another round, in the fight of Life, but somehow, we just do it.

VJ grab some rest, if you can, and know everyone is here, in your corner, ready to help with a cool towel, and soothing balm for all those cuts and bruises, that life has thrown at you.

Jimmie my heart goes out to you and the hard burden you are carrying, but as you once said, it is like an ocean wave, it just keeps coming in, wearing us down, but we are still here, taking every wave head on.   (okay I am sort of paraphrasing, but you get my drift, I hope)  You are a true battler, a bruiser I think they were called, and somehow you will perserve, and find a way to help the kids, as they go through their own battle.  Just you being there, showing that one can still make it through to the next round, is a huge help

And Xenia, glad you are feeling better, and still ready to battle onwards. It is encouraging to me, and I know to others, to see you keep on picking yourself up, swinging with both hands. I wish I had that kind of stamina, but I am trying to learn from your example.  And yes it is hot isn't it, only 2pm here on the westcoast of the island, an the back porch thermometer says it is a cool 32.

Thankfully we got one of those hooked sprayers to get the hanging baskets, now we just hold it over our head, while enjoying a fresh raspberry off the bush, watching the hummingbirds flit from flower to flower.

Hugs to all

Dear frustrated, vj,

I am so sorry for your loss.  I know this feels like too much to handle right now - but just know that you have friends who care, who will listen.

Take care of yourself - and when you feel up to it - then drop a line.
Hugs and thoughts,
NatR

Good Morning All:

Up and around for the morning preparing for another hot and horrible day, so hot and no breeze around anywhere and no rain in the near future.

I am still recuperating and have my nurse friend looking after me.  'Wonderful to have friends.  She and another friend are going to the island this evening.  Catching the ferry then to Port Hardy, back to Victoria, etc.  Good for them as she has given up much to look after me.

I am having better days, still missing John very much as I sit and watch the hummingbirds feeding.  Reminds me of him.  I have done a lot of reading and asking questions about life and find that the best advice I can receive is from all of you on CVH. as we all have or are travelling the same road with our loved ones.

Jimmie, VJ, Old Bat and all I appreciate that all of you have to take time for yourselves and as such cannot be on line.  I was concerned about you and of course had to write.  I guess my mind was thinking, Am I losing you as well.  You all have been part of my journey through the ups and downs, good times and sad times that I feel that we are family of many different mothers but share our ties in so many ways.

Nurse Cratchet is calling me for breakfast, we slept in this a.m. and she has many things in mind for us to-day, so I will sign off for now and be in touch later when I have more time.

To all, hugs and loving supportive thoughts.

Good Morning All:

Dear VJ:

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's passing.  May you find comfort here on CVH with your friends for support as I did when John passed away.  The understanding, support and comfort I recieved you will also have and the caring by all your friends here on CVH and your family and friends in your community will provide much help at this difficult time.

I had written earlier, however, my computer refused to send my messages and I have not been receiving messages on my email telling me I had messages.  I just had a new computer installed and perhaps this is part of why I am lax in responding.

To all, Jimmie, VJ, Old Bat, Nat, Katherine and everyone on CVH thank you so much for being there when I and others needed you.  I am doing better with my walking, still hunched over but getting better.

Will be in contact once I figure out how to fix my computer or else ther is a problem with signing into CVH as it tells me to wait, wait, wait.

Hugs to all

Xenia

Hi again:

I see my messages are going through but when I send them it takes forever and then I have to shut down the computer.  I talked to my computer friend and he asked me if the problem was with CVH so I tried something different.

Hope all your messages are sent to my email as I haven't had any messages for the past few days and went back to the old messages to see what I could do.  Hope this time it works

Dear Xenia,

How frustrating that your messages are not appearing immediately. As you can see from the message above, I tested it. My message appear right after hitting Submit.

Are you experiencing a slow internet in general today? My computer friend's stock answer for most computer issues is to "restart the computer". Good thing it only costs me a cup of tea for this advice.

Let me know if the problem persists. Anyone else having issues with their messages not appearing right away?

Colleen

PS: Xenia, did you get 2 email notifications for these messages that I just posted?

Now I have to test again because the last message made the page go blank and I thought the message was lost. I will report the problem to our tech guy. Thanks Xenia.
