Living Beyond the Care that was at my fingertips in Toronto I followed my husband up here

Hello, all.

This is my first post and to be honest I'm not looking to be argued out of my decision - I followed my husband up here to the farm of his dreams.  Sadly he lasted all of 2 weeks before dying in Ukraine of schleraderma and I've been here by myself since.
To say that there's a lack of doctor care here is the understatement of the century.  There is one very fantastic Infectious Disease specialist, no available GP's and my Nurse Practitioner of years moved on and left me with a NP who believes herself to be more qualified and took it upon herself to make sweeping changes to my meds that have taken over a decade to balance with my damaged system (liver and kidneys).
My decision has been months in the coming but having to deal with this b#$3tch of a Nurse who believes herself to be above and more intelligent than my well known Infectious Disease specialist has left me with nothing but more pain, disfigurement and a general ability to do nothing more than lay on my side - adult onset scoliosis and the total degeneration of my bio m discs in my entire L spine series have made movement of any kind all but impossible.
25 years of dealing with the ups and downs of HIV and the previous 10 years of liver cancer due to chronic recurring Hep B have just left me without the desire to fight anymore.  35 years is enough and well beyond anything expected of me BUT I'm having a difficult time finding any support of my decision to remove all medications and let nature take its course.  I'm hoping someone on here can understand and give me some words of support in what is ultimately my decision.

Dear Shawndavid,
I know that as I read your post I am only seeing snapshots of what the last years have been for you. Death, pain, loss of function and along with all of this, not feeling heard and listened to. The light seems to be the infectious diseases doctor.

I am not sure how much time you have spent on the Canadian Virtual Hospice site, but wondered if you had seen Ask A Professional. The team of palliative care experts (doctors, clinical nurse specialists, a social worker, pharmacist and a spiritual care advisor)  is ready to answer your questions about end-of-life care, loss and bereavement. You would ge a detailed, personal response in three working days. All questions and answers are confidential. This response would not be a substitute for direct medical advice and/or care, but perhaps the team would be able to help you navigate the rough water.

Please let me know what you think. Good idea or not?

Kind regards,
Katherine
