Hi - on a very wet, humid day,

Jodie, I am sorry this has been such a hard week for you and Mick. It's good to know there is an end date which gives you a couple of weeks before the wedding for him to gain back weight and strength. Plus very good news that the tumor has shrunk so substantially. What a great job you are doing in finding things to eat and drink that help him to feel better Jodie. That's not easy especially when you are so worried about him - worry can sometimes paralyze. Good job!

Xenia, I do hope this week has been better for you and John. My mum used to say that each of her children took on different roles - just as your kids are. What a comfort.

Oh and Nat, Mick usually shaves his head so that part is no big deal. But without his goatee he looks sooooo differient and YOUNG! I have to say the new look is growing on me. lol I just want him well. We will postpone the wedding if need be but part of me is scared of that too. FIngers crossed everyone!

things got worse over the weekend. by yesterday all he got in was some water and half a thing of Boost. losing weight fast but the worst of it is seeing how much painhe is in. literally curls up with horrible burps that look like they are ripping him up on the inside and when that isn't happening his lungs, head and whole chest are just hurts him to no end

we went into radiation early to see the Dr. Yesterday Mick could not even get Boost down. Dr said he needs to try to ride this out. Gave him liquid dilaudid. Mick said it worked a smidge. we go back July 2 as the 1 is a holiday. Dr said if he is no better, he will admit him. Both of us crying lots today. So hard to see him in so much pain and he is no stranger to it. Dr said the worst will peak about July 16. Wedding was to be July 19. He hasn't said it because he does not want to upset me but obv we have to post pone it. Just so tired of this. I know the txs are doing there thing but it is so heartbreaking to see him go through this. and now I have to go back to work July 2. Just want to curl up and cry myself to sleep.

Dear Jodie,
its been a tough time for you and Mick - so sorry he is in such pain. I hope you can figure out a way to stay with him - and postpone returning to work just a little longer. I know you want to be with him... And I am sure he needs you there also.

things have a way of working out somehow - and I pray that it all comes together for you both. Your support is a wonderful gift. I know how hard it is to see him suffering.

sometimes just a day makes a difference - and I am hoping for that for you and mick.

I have good news to share!!!

PET scan done yesterday shows the tumor continues to shrink, the cancer has not spread and the lymph nodes are back to normal size. They do not feel the cancer is active and say the tumor should continue to shrink over the next few months till it is gone. NO more treatments for now. Mick has to go in for repeat PET/CT/tests every two months now. I know thing can still happen/change but i am celebrating this moment and going to hang on to it and just enjoy each day with him.

WEDDING GOING AHEAD FOR JULY 19!!!

Wonderful news! I hope you can both enjoy the final wedding plan preparations - although it may be busy it will be such a relieved busy.

Thanks ladies. Got ahead of myself a little. thought i could go without my evening pill. was up till 6 am. only able to sleep till 10. sigh. good thing i did not have to work today. very tired now. gonna take a nice hot bath, TAKE MY PILL (lol) and curl up in bed with the dog. Bless his little puppy soul.
