Hi Sue
Just thought I would check in and see how things are with you this week. It is blowing a snowy storm here. All the best

Hi Katherine,
I'm okay, thanks. Luckily I live in Chilliwack BC, so we haven't had to brave the crazy eastern weather. The bronchitis seems to have given up (yippy!) but it's taking a lot longer than usual to get my strength back.
Does anyone know if there is a cousellor for family members in Chilliwack? I really think my husband coudl stand to talk to someone, and he's doing the stoic male thing. I love him, but sometimes...
Have a great new years
Sue
PS: I have some real fibro-fog today so if I did'nt respond to everything please forgive.

Hi Sue

I have visited Chilliwack once or twice – and yes I think you are lucky to live there!  I am glad your bronchitis has improved – but yes - you need strength too.

You might find these resources of benefit to you and your husband - and you may know of them already.

A good site is the Chilliwack Hospice Society There is lots of good information and as well I know you had some questions about Advance Care Planning – there is a video on this site under ‘News and Events’ called “Advance Care Planning Conversations: A New Video” that you and your husband might find helpful.

The Family Caregivers Network is based in Victoria, but has online resources as well.

The Virtual Hospice also has a section called “Ask a Professional” – and you might want to post a question here. This is made up of a team of social workers, spiritual care providers, clinical nurse specialists, palliative care physicians and ethicists. It's a wonderful resource for people anywhere in Canada.

Nice to talk with you Sue.  Happy New Year to you too! How are you and your husband celebrating? I am usually in bed by 11 pmJ

Take care

Katherine

11PM sounds about right to me. There is some chance we'll queup a film, but that would be about as wild as we get.

Smile Yeah I didn't even make it to 11. I was in bed and soundly sleeping by 9:30. We started to watch something; I think it was Stargate, but dont' quote me.
I am finding that my energy level is quite variable. I'll be fine (well, more or less) one moment and nodding off the next. I guess it's part and parcel of this whole thing.
A Happy New Year to everyone here!

Happy New Year to you too, Sue.

I didn't make it to midnight either. But personally Dec 31 is more my day than Jan 1 because Dec 31 is my birthday. We celebrated before midnight Wink

Happy New Years and Happy Birth Day. I like how you separated the word into two Sue - You do very well with fibro fog:)

Were  you and your husband able to find a counsellor?

Take care
Katherine

hi Sue,

How are things going? I understand your part of the country was spared the deep freeze that the rest of us experienced. Things are thawing quickly here in Southern Ontario now though.

Does the weather keep you indoors?
