Tired daughter, I'm sorry your mom is going soon but I'm happy to hear you are spiritually connected. I too understand that just my moms body will be gone but her soul will be alive always in heaven. I'm glad that this is almost over for you and mom. And thankfully she isn't suffering. Love and prayers🙏🏼🍀❤️

Hi Kimmy, my mom passed away on Tuesday evening, Sep 6th.. Quietly, in her sleep (she didn't wake up since Friday - we were coming every day, hoping that she would, at least for a bit..), shortly before I got there.. She was still warm, but wasn't breathing, so I held her hand before my daughter came, and then the nurse came in to give my mom a shot, and had to call another one to tell me that she's gone - which I knew already.. It gives me comfort that she didn't suffer in her last few days - and I still went through a few "should've could've" regrets, and learned that you can seem fine - and then tear up when something triggers a memory or you realize that nobody will call you "my little girl" ever again... I'm glad we went for cremation - doesn't feel as final as funeral, will have her with me till I decide what to do with the ashes...

I don't know how you do it, taking care of your mom yourself I mean, even visiting my mom was hard... But yeah, pay attention to her appetite - and once she stops eating, try talking to her, as it could be your last chance before she falls asleep to never wake up...

Oh Tireddaughter, I'm so sorry for your loss, even though we both know she's in a much better place now. No matter how prepared we think we are, we really aren't. I'm so glad she went peacefully. I pray my mother does too. My daughter in law is in the hospital right now preparing to deliver her son, my seventh grandchild. I had a thought today that maybe my mother is hanging on to meet the newest member of the family. My mother also requested to come out with me and my granddaughter yesterday for church. After mass, we walked her all around Boston to see all the changes since last time she was there. We are trying to make the most of what little time we have. It is really tough being the sole caretaker but I just keep telling myself it is temporary.
Thanks for sharing your moms journey with me. Prayers to you and your family. 🙏🏼🍀🙏🏼🍀

TiredDaughter my sympathy to you in the passing of your mom. There is never enough time to do or say all the things we want to with the ones we love. As you said to Kimmy61 we never know when it will be the last time we.... (fill in the blank). Although we had a service at the time of my husband's passing, we did not bury his ashes for a year later as his wish (and mine) was to be buried in his home town in NL. Both my daughter and I found that for us that year was important and we are glad to have had the opportunity to honor his wishes and to have that time for ourselve.

Kimmy61 - coming and going in your family. Many different emotions. What a lovely picture of 3 generations walking and talking - making memories.

Take care all
