"The Canadian Gerontological Nursing Association is pleased to introduce its 15th Annual Conference at the Banff Conference Centre. The theme for our 2009 conference is "Making Moments Matter" in practice, education, administration, and research. Keynote speakers include: Beth Perry PhD RN, nurse and author of Moments in Time: Images of Exemplary Nursing Care will provide the opening keynote on Wednesday evening; Gloria Gutman PhD is an internationally renown gerontologist and a past president of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, she will speak on Thursday morning on the topic of environmental health and aging; Laurie Skreslet, first Canadian to summit Mount Everest, will be our speaker on Friday morning; Dorothy Pringle PhD RN, is a preeminent Canadian gerontological nurse researcher. Dr. Pringle's address at the Halifax CGNA conference in 2005 provided the inspiration for our theme, and she will be our closing keynote speaker. " |
